The Eagle 997 was the last car that came out the shops at All American Racers in Santa Anna, California in the spring of 1999. It was a one car effort at the time because of limited funding from Castrol and Toyota. The car was driven by Alex Barron and actually lead laps in Vancouver that year. The final race it ran was in Fontana, California at the end of the 1999 season. By the end of the year, with money dwindling, Dan Gurney pulled the plug on his entire Cart team. Toyota went on to the Ganassi team in 2000 and the rest is history.
