For the 2005 Indy car season, Tomas Scheckter was set to drive the yellow Pennzoil car for Panther racing. But for the Indianapolis 500 the bright yellow made way for a platinum paint job... Pennzoil Platinum that is. Unfortunately Scheckter's 2005 Indianapolis 500 ended abruptly when he was caught up in an accident triggered by Danica Patrick's spin. The accident also eliminated his team mate Tomas Enge. But that wasn't the last of the Pennzoil Platinum paint scheme, as it returned at the next race at Texas Motor Speedway where Scheckter not only captured the pole position but also the race, leading 119 out of 200 laps.
