The 1985 Indianapolis 500 was marked by one of the most spectacular moves ever made in an Indy 500. Attempting to pass leader Mario Andretti in Turn 1, Sullivan’s car slipped on the painted yellow line at the bottom of the turn and did a complete 360 degree spin just a few feet in front of Andretti. In an incredible bit of driving Andretti swerved at over 200mph and managed to avoid hitting the spinning Sullivan, who kept going and went on to win the race.
