only check Indycals

In 1971 Al Unser accomplished an incredible feat, becoming a back-to-back winner of the Indy 500 - something only accomplished three times prior - and something that has only happened once since. This race was marked by one of the more bizarre situations in Indy competition when the pace car crashed into a photographers stand at the start of the race injuring several but fortunately killing nobody. In addition to pace car driver Eldon Palmer, passengers in the car included speedway owner Tony Hulman, ABC sportscaster Chris Schenkle, and astronaut John Glenn. You will not find reference to the accident in any offical Speedway videos or books.

The 1970 and 71 colt decals are amongst our favorite in our product line. The Parnelli Jones Johnny Lightning Colts were carefully studied with great attention to the assymetrical design of the markings and the difference in style between the 1970 and 71 markings such as the different shapes of the large lightning bolts that dominated the cars.

These sheets are also printed to ensure color integrity when placed over the dark blue of the car - no doubling up of decals necessary for a beautiful finish.
