Powered by a Novi engine and using a Ferguson four-wheel-drive chassis, Bobby Unser qualified this car in 22nd position.
The Granatelli team had high hopes for Unser, but on the second lap, Bobby was caught up in the accident that claimed the life of Eddie Sachs and Dave MacDonald. Unser drove through the fireball, but incured damage that took the car out of competition.
