It looked like Louis Meyer was going to win for the second year in a row, but when he killed his engine during his final pit stop, Ray Keech takes the lead. Despite being in the pits for seven minutes, Meyer recovers to finish second - six minutes behind Keach.

Unfortunately Keech did not get to bask in the glow of his Indy victory for long - he was killed two weeks later racing at Altoona Pennsylvania.
