only check Indycals

For the second time in 4 races the Indianapolis 500 was rain shortened, but there was no shortness of excitement. After starting on time, rains came at lap 113 and for awhile it looked like Tony Kanaan would be the winner of the second shortest Indy 500 on record. But after a 3 hour delay the race resumed at 6:15 pm. Now the drivers were not battling each other, but they were also battling the onset of darkness and more rain. At lap 151 Marty Roth crashed and the ensuing yellow set of the game play. Leader Kanaan pitted, while team mate Dario Franchitti took a gamble and stayed out. On the restart Kanaan ran into the back of Jacques Lazier - who also stayed out and lead for the first time in his career - and crashed both drivers out of the race. Franchitti lead the restart on lap 163 when Marco Andrett ran into Dan Wheldon and flipped his car on the backstretch. During the yellow the rains finally came and the race was called at lap 166.
