Coming off the 1981 World Drivers Championship with the Cosworth powered BT49, Brabham teamed up with BMW who produced a turbocharged 4-cylinder engine for the 1982 campaign. Reliability issues saw the team use the Cosworth powered BT49 in early races, (much to the chagrin of BMW). However as the team sorted out issues, the car got better and Piquet scored a win at Canada (finishing ahead of team mate Patrese in the Cosworth).

Where Tamiya's sheet has white Parmalat markings (that tend to yellow) that go over their solid dark blue decals (and show the underlying color), this sheet has the Parmalat markings knocked out of the dark blue areas, which results in a brighter white Parmalat lettering. Also the sidepod decals on this sheet are split into two parts to facilitate easier decal application - there is a bit of overlap between the top and bottom piece to help you line them up better. Driver markings are included. Nelson Piquet only.
