During the 1976 F1 season Niki Lauda looked well on his way to defending his 1975 world championship. After winning two races in the 312T, Lauda won 3 more in the 312T2 before suffering a near fatal accident at the Nurburgring where it looked so dire that last rites were administered. Despite this, Lauda returned to the cockpit only 6 weeks later even though his facial burns had not yet healed. Going into the last race at Japan Lauda still lead the world championship. But the race was started in a torrential downpour. Lauda decided that it was too unsafe and retired from the race, allowing James Hunt to score just enough points to win the championship.

Designed for use with the Hasegawa 1/20 Ferrari 312T2 kit. This sheet provides white areas that are more opaque than the kit decals. The number shields on the engine cover are specially designed so that the lower part that lays over the red portion of the car is a more opaque white than the top to prevent the pink cast the occurs with the kit decals. This will be visually apparent on when on the sheet, but not when applied to the car.
